Well done you’ve deserved this two weeks Easter break. We hope you have a good break and are happy and well!
We wish you have a happy and healthy Easter. Make sure you make the most of spending quality time with your family!
During the Easter break you can watch the Easter story and learn about why Easter important and the sacrifices Jesus made.
Also, create an Easter card for a family member and Easter is a time to be thankful. What are you thankful for? You can discuss this with your grown ups/families.
Keeping sending your photos across to us (on our class email) and enjoy eating your Easter eggs!

The people behind the phonics scheme ‘Read Write Inc’ will be on YouTube daily teaching 10 minute phonics lessons to help your child learn letter sounds while they are at home. Watch the videos below. These change daily.

Do a couple of Go Noodle sessions – don’t forget to do Mrs Barlows’ favourite – Footloose and Miss Bashirs favourite calm down – Melting sometimes! (parents – you can either sign up for an account or search for them on Youtube, the children will tell you their favourites)

10:00 – 10:30
Choose either a writing activity from the list below or an activity from the Early Years pages of White Rose Maths (Week One)
10:30 – 11:00
Phonics time, do the sounds lesson from the link above then play on Teach Your Monster To Read for 20 minutes.
11:00 – 11:45
Play a game, do some colouring, build your favourite animal or play with your favourite toys
11:45 – 12:45
Lunch time – make sure you wash your hands, enjoy your lunch!
12:45 – 13:15
13:15 – 15:00
Choose any of the activities below or make your own activity from a story book you have read.
15:00 – free time, well done you have earned it 🙂 Have fun and be good for your adults
Read for 20 minutes every day
Count everyday-try to get your child to count as high as they can up to 100 in 1s. Encourage them to hop, skip, jump the numbers.
Can you write a sentence about something you enjoyed doing last week? Help your child to remember finger spaces, full stops and capital letters.
Share a story together every day. Discuss the main characters, any feelings/actions.
Describe the main events in the story.
Count in 2s, 5s and 10s-please use practical items to count-e.g. 10 bananas, 2 socks, 5 cars-please be creative and use intermittently with your child.
Use online platforms such as education city, teach your monster to read, Collins Big Cat.
|Reading & Art
Draw, paint, create pictures based on a story you have enjoyed.
Look at pictures, watch programmes, read books all about animals-can you draw and label pictures about different animals.
Segment and blend words, look at things at home can your child find an item that begins with? Ends with? Has an ….. in it?
Practice their flash cards with them.
Practice number bonds to 10. Which numbers add up to 10? Can your child make a picture that show some of the number bonds to 10?
Can find out what comes from an egg?
Can you name some of the different continents? Which animals come from which continent.
